Maintenance Manager

 

Position Summary

This position exists to manage, direct, and schedule the maintenance of all buildings, grounds and equipment as well as the training of all skilled crafts relating to the upkeep and operation of the Pasco facility and processes within budgetary constraints to maximize asset life and processing efficiency.  Must have PLC and Wonder Ware experience.

Direct the efficient maintenance and improvement of process equipment to meet critical needs for volume, quality, and maximum uptime by managing a skilled workforce through continuous training and job enhancement techniques.

Manage the loss of recoverable product due to Refrigeration issues, equipment failure, and design shortcomings by utilizing the latest Operations Improvement techniques and a planned Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Work Order system.

Manage budget costs by controlling inventory, purchasing procedures, requisitions, issues, and the timely scheduling of personnel.

Direct the safe operation of all plant equipment through supplier training programs, utilizing Company safety programs, accepted investigation procedures, direct and indirect supervision and continuing updates to Risk Management Plan and Process Safety Management.

Assure a successful loss prevention program by directing the design, construction, and installation of assigned equipment to provide a safe work environment and to comply with Company, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and regulations including PSM, RMP, SARA Title III, LEPC, SERC, EPA, and all other regulations.

Assure compliance with the Pasco Plant sanitation program by directing design, construction, and installation of processing and process control equipment for accessibility to allow proper sanitation practices.

Position Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Engineering or Technical field with studies in scientific principles and theory related to steam and ammonia processes with a minimum of five years experience in direct supervision of maintenance personnel, or ten years of experience in supervising crafts maintaining equipment necessary for processes utilizing steam and ammonia refrigeration.

 

Knowledge

The incumbent must possess a good working knowledge of heat transfer systems dealing with Steam injection and Refrigeration principles.  This person must be able to follow a Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance flow diagram.  

 

Skills and Abilities

Experience in scheduling, facilitating, and participating in staff and employee meetings.  Experience in developing and implementing on-the-job training and supplemental study programs.  Experience in skills assessment for upgrading.  Experience in planning, costing, and scheduling work to be let to external job shops and contractors.  Experience in managing a Computerized Maintenance Management System.  Experience in Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance procedures.

 

Education

 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Engineering or 10 years direct experience in food processing Maintenance Supervision.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement.
