Quality
Assurance/Regulatory Affairs Manager
Job Description
Responsible for ensuring that product meets specific quality
requirements for the company and its customers.
·
Ensure that the products meet federal, state and local agency
compliance standards.
·
Receives and processes
USDA label approvals, temporary approvals and extensions in a timely
fashion.
·
Generate and Maintain labels using Labelview software on USDA
and FDA regulated foods
·
Develop Nutrition
Facts Panels using Genesis software, ensuring
compliance with all label related health and wellness claims.
·
Develop
ingredient statements and ensure products meet appropriate FDA/USDA standard of
identities.
·
Review
all product related artwork and ensure it meets regulatory (USDA, FDA, DOT) and
internal requirements.
·
Provide customers with technical information including
ingredient statements, nutritionals, preparation instructions, allergens,
packaging and shelf life.
·
Work closely with R&D on regulatory issues, ingredient
sourcing and problem resolution.
·
Obtain and maintain technical information on raw ingredients.
·
Test and inspect products, then make necessary adjustment
recommendations.
·
Handle any customer complaints and address any daily issues with
General Manager.
·
Design quality control policies and monitor product testing.
·
Train
employees on food safety and quality requirements.
Overview
Direct and coordinate the Plant Quality Assurance Department to provide the necessary
support to operations to assure all products are manufactured and/or packaged
within good commercial practices; meet company and customer standards and
policies and meet all Federal and State regulations in a cost effective manner.
Skill / Experience Requirements
·
Bachelor's degree
·
3+ years manufacturing experience
·
Fresh food processing experience
preferred
·
Prior team leadership experience
·
Experience with USDA, FDA, and
HACCP guidelines
·
Nutrition/Dietician experience a plus
·
Genesis Software experience
·
QA Management Experience preferred
·
Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
·
Knowledge
of food product development and processes
·
Solid
understanding of food safety and allergens
·
Ability
to handle multiple projects simultaneously
·
Proficient
in Microsoft Office programs
·
Detail
oriented and self motivator
