Associate Marketing Manager

Retail Channel-(Local Candidates Preferred)

 

 

Summary

Responsible for being a key contributor to the development and execution of annual marketing plans for the retail brands, consistent with the Company’s growth and profit objectives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.        Manages major brand-building initiatives such as new product introductions, re-launches and major packaging changes. Collaborates with key functional areas to drive portions of a project/plan.

 

2.        Design, execute, and manage the progress of annual marketing plan with assistance from manager.  Participates in identifying optimal consumer target and brand positioning.  Recommends and coordinates package and product improvements that enhance the brand.  Develops and manages the promotional plan for key accounts and communicate to Sales and broker teams.

 

3.      Accurately uses a variety of data sources to analyze relevant business situations and proactively recognize, evaluate, and address key business issues, drivers and growth opportunities. Observes and analyzes new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build the brands within the channel.

 

4.        Design internal and external sales presentations and manage outside creative agencies in the development of sales materials, advertising copy, brand website content, PR/media plans, and in-store promotional activities to accomplish objectives on schedule and within budget. 

 

5.        Structures and analyzes research for new and existing products and uses knowledge about consumers, competition, and customers to assess and create business solutions and provide ideas that support brand strategy utilizing the following types of research:

·         Quantitative

·         Qualitative

·         On-line questionnaires

·         Shelving Optimization

·         Product performance

·         Channel & Retailer Shopper Variations

·         Panel

·        Syndicate

 

6.       Manage annual marketing budget and track spending by processing invoices for payment in a timely manner.

 

Must maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of “What We Stand For” and “The Basic Principles.”

 

Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.

Education and/or Experience                                               

Bachelor’s degree required MBA preferred and a minimum of two years related experience.

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                     

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

 

Computer Skills                                            

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Intermediate Excel Spreadsheet software and Intermediate Word - table and drawing tools Word Processing software.  Individual should also have Intermediate PowerPoint knowledge and Basic Adobe Acrobat a plus.

 

Other Qualifications                                                 

Travel up to 20% of the time for press checks and sales meetings.
