Sr. Scheduler

 

 Summary

This position is accountable for meeting customer requirements and supporting strategic goals of this company through efficient and effective production scheduling and customer order analysis.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1.      Partner with Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Raw Material, Operations, Human Resources, and Logistics to develop the most efficient tactical schedules that meet customer requirements at the lowest total cost.

 

2.      Use analytical skills, software tools, and research methods to effectively create and maintain production schedules while managing impact on total facility utilization as well as manpower constraints. Implement Lean Management principles within position including developing and following standard work, use of visual tools to measure expected vs. actual of key schedule metrics

 

3.      Communicate with key business customers to create, maintain, and publish production and packaging schedules to meet the customer’s sales and inventory expectations.

 

4.      Respond to changes in customer requirements and provide ongoing direction to planning, operations, and logistics continually improving the pull processes within the respective facility.

 

5.      Analyze customer order patterns and provide feedback on Pull Systems, Kanban sizing, minimum order size, and demand through lead time calculations for efficient planning in a LEAN environment.

 

6.      Communicate with Logistics to respond to customer orders in progress.  Modify activities, as needed, to meet customer requirements.  Formulate contingencies based on sales promotions, product reformulations, staffing, and new product introductions.

Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.

 

Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies.  Regularly complete behavior based safety observations.  Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                               

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and from five to seven years of related experience and/or training.

 

Language Skills                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                  

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability                                                     

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills                                            

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of  ; Internet Explorer Internet software and  ERP Databases,   software.  Advanced scheduling and advanced planning experience a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certification in APICS CPIM  or CSCP is a plus.

This position will be required to travel to all Idaho locations.
