SERVING THE RECRUITING NEEDS OF THE FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
Summary
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of staff involved
in developing procedures, equipment, and techniques to solve process problems
by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accountable for monitoring the performance of assigned processes within the company and for investigating and resolving problems and issues inhibiting the performance of manufacturing processes and products.
1.
Accountable for
leading the investigation, development and implementation of improvements and
technologies to optimize manufacturing process performance and provide for competitive
advantage, increased profitability, and/or enhanced quality and safety.
2. Accountable for leading and supporting the development and scale-up implementation of processes for new products, product extensions, and changes to existing products.
3. Accountable for overall leadership and support of
capital improvement projects including
the development of project requirements, project justification, equipment flow
sheets and process line layouts. Also
accountable for new equipment startup, operator training, written operating
procedures and specifications, and process conformance to justification
criteria.
4.
Accountable for
timely and effective communication of project activities to superiors and to
internal customers, including Department and Facility Managers, Corporate
Marketing, and project team associates.
Must maintain the
highest standards of ethics and integrity while embodying the tenets of “What
We Stand For” and “The Basic Principles.”
Must maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Process Focus--Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; MS in a related science preferred and five to ten years related experience and/or training.
Micro
focus--Graduate study and/or experience in Microbiology, Food Science, Food
Engineering, or Bio-Chemical Engineering are desired.
Language Skills
Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals,
financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for
publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information
to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability
to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To
perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft
Office Suite, and preferably experience in TIMEX an Internet software; Adage
Manufacturing software; and MS Project Management software.
Other Skills and Abilities
Emphasis and experience in advanced
thermodynamics, fluid mechanics is a plus.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.

Weekly
Idaho Campus travel; out of state travel up to 50%
