We specialize in Beverage Systems at this location.

The Plant Controller is an integral part of the plant management team who is responsible to provide accurate plant financial and statistical data in order for management to make timely and informed decisions concerning financial performance of the business.


The successful candidate will be responsible for

1. Publishing monthly operations report’s following month end close and
summarizing the following:
• Trend analysis of plant performance with commentary on future expected trends.
• Plant costs, statistics, labor counts and overtime and inventory levels for month
and year to date.
• Analysis of major variances vs. budget and prior year on a month and year to
date basis
• Evaluation & feasibility of capital projects

2. Responsible for coordinating and completing annual plant budget on a timely
basis. Includes Payroll, Capital, Variable and fixed costs for operating the facility.
3. Monitor and control: Accounts payable, Payroll, Freight, All key forms of statistical
measurement (%Loss, %On-Line, Plant Throughput, Shippable pounds/Day), all
site costs whether direct or indirect.
4. Identify areas for improvement in all areas of materials management including
inventory levels, aged inventories, and plant capacity utilization by production line.
5. Responsible for timely communication of cost issues to the commercial accounting
group for inclusion in pricing considerations.
6. Responsible for implementing inventory control processes including physical
inventories and cycle count programs. This includes analyzing inventory trends,
aged inventory concerns, and inventory discrepancies, then reporting summary
and detailed results to plant and divisional management.
7. Responsible for keeping fully informed and educated on new developments in
accounting systems and reporting processes that align with business unit and
corporate requirements. Developing plans for implementation of above as well
as being actively involved as a member of the teams designing such systems.
Current systems include: OLAP cubes for sales, operations and purchasing, On
line data entry, batch lot numbering, MS office applications, AS400/Mapics
reporting

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with 3-5 years Operations experience.
• Working toward a professional designation (CMA, CGA).
• Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities
while being tactful and mature. Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Being able to lead and
motivate staff while maintaining an environment conducive to working, good
business acumen, performance measurement, control and risk management, and
information management.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and accounting systems.
• AS400 experience a definite asset.
