GENERAL PLANT MANAGER

 

                                                                             

I.          BASIC FUNCTION

 

            Manage the overall planning, organizing and administering of the Seattle Dry Mix Plant.

 

            Responsible for insuring that a safe work place is provided that allows for achievement of production requirements at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality specifications.

 

            Responsible for developing operating budgets, identifying and evaluating capital projects and employing the physical, financial and human resources of the facility to full potential.

 

II.         ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

 

            Reports to:                  V.P., Operations

            Supervises:                 Human Resource Manager

                                                Purchasing Agent

                                                Scheduling Manager

                                                Quality Assurance Supervisor

                                                Inventory Control Manager

                                                Environmental Supervisor

                                                Distribution Clerk(s)

            Works with:                 Sales

                                                Marketing

                                                Research & Development

                                                Customer Service Department

                                                Accounting Department

 

III.        SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

            Responsible for the Dry Mix facilities and all related functions to include, production, quality assurance, maintenance, shipping, customer satisfaction, budgeting and capital equipment. 

 

IV.        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.                  Mange the Dry Mix facility

            2.         Manage the operation to meet financial goals

            3.         Manage the budget, inventory and equipment

            4.         Responsible for the identification, evaluation and installation of capital projects

            5.         Responsible for the safety of the personnel and facility

            6.         Maintain a high quality rate of production

            7.         Minimize raw material inventory and manufacture "just in time" JIT whenever possible

            8.         Maintain finished goods inventory to meet the sales demand and to minimize shortages

            9.         Responsible for standards of quality products produced

10.              Provide Operations with feedback on products, services, distribution, quality tactics and strategy

 

V.         SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

 

·                     B.A. degree in Business Administration and or Engineering

·                     Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in managing a food manufacturing facility or related experience

 

VI.        PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

            Normal office environment with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

 

VII.       CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

 

            Assure adequate inventory levels to satisfy on time and complete customer shipments.
